Obama-appointed judge, who’s also an Obama donor, issues restraining order against Center for Medical Progress
District Judge William H. Orrick III stops more videos from being released
District Judge William H. Orrick III, an Obama-appointee, has issued a temporary restraining order against the Center for Medical Progress, the anti-abortion group whose bombshell videos of Planned Parenthood executives selling the body parts of aborted babies have caused an uproar in recent weeks.
Judge Orrick issued the order yesterday from his bench in San Francisco (natch) at the behest of National Abortion Federation leaders, an international organization of abortion providers, of which Planned Parenthood is a member. The folks at NAF fear they will be subjected to harassment and intimidation if a permanent restraining order isn’t issued, and there is a follow-up hearing scheduled for August 3.
In issuing the temporary restraining order against CMP, Orrick said “NAF would be likely to suffer irreparable injury, absent an ex parte temporary restraining order, in the form of harassment, intimidation, violence, invasion of privacy, and injury to reputation, and the requested relief is in the public interest.”
But is it not also in the public interest to know that tax payers are partially funding the abhorrent acts of Planned Parenthood?
According to CNN, CMP has no plans to back down:
“The National Abortion Federation is a criminal organization that has spent years conspiring with Planned Parenthood on how to violate federal laws on partial-birth abortion and fetal tissue sales,” he said following the court’s ruling. “The Center for Medical Progress will contest any attempts to suppress our First Amendment rights to free speech or silence the freedom of the citizen press.”
Unfortunately for Planned Parenthood, the damage may already be done, even without the release of further videos, as the Senate is voting on Monday on whether or not to defund the abortion-loving group. Per Lifenews.com:
Not only does the bill de-fund Planned Parenthood, it takes the taxpayer dollars that had been slated for the abortion business and sends them to legitimate women’s health care. The bills transfers funding from Planned Parenthood and sends it to agencies that provides for women’s health services including relevant diagnostic laboratory and radiology services, well-child care, prenatal and postpartum care, immunization, family planning services including contraception, sexually transmitted disease testing, cervical and breast cancer screenings, and referrals.
Democrats will, of course, attempt to filibuster and block the bill from being passed. We will then have a complete record of Senators who support the selling of baby parts. Which is definitely in the public interest.
