Free Speech? Never With The Left
I thank God everyday that I was born in this country, a place where I can have freedom of religion (for now!) and private property rights, just to name a couple. But, in my opinion, the biggest freedom we enjoy — the one that sets us apart from the rest of the world — is the freedom of speech. We are free to think what we want and free to say what we want, except when we say something that the left hates … then they want to squash us like little bugs.
I can honestly say that I am officially TICKED OFF.
I am a Christian, and I love Jesus Christ, which means that I love people. He commanded us to love the Lord with all our hearts, all our souls, and all our minds, and to love our neighbors as ourselves. That doesn’t mean that we are not allowed to disagree with behavior that goes against our beliefs. Pizza restaurant owners and bakers alike have politely refused to prepare food for gay weddings because it violated their religious beliefs, and the left has gone on the warpath to shut them up and shut them down. What happened to having honest debate? Can’t we agree to disagree? Not in the left’s playbook.
Bruce Jenner has now become Caitlyn Jenner. Personally, my heart breaks for him. Mutilating one’s body will not bring peace. I am free to have my opinion, but I know when this article posts, I will get horrible feedback. That’s okay. We can disagree. But the left will try and shut me up.
I have vehemently disagreed with Barack Obama on just about every issue — not because he’s black, but because his policies are destroying my country, my way of life, and our national security. I would feel the same way even if Obama were blue, red, purple or polka dot. But if you disagree with him, you’re labeled a racist - the left’s way of trying to shut down speech. Well, I have news for you. I’m not shutting up. I will keep speaking out because brave men and women through the years have died and made the ultimate sacrifice so I can do just that – speak out.
Free speech works both ways. The left has the right to their opinions just like I have the right to mine. The difference is that I’m not trying to use any means necessary to shut the left down. And I won’t, herein lies the difference.
The left believes in free speech … as long as everyone agrees with them. To the Al Sharptons and the Louis Farrakhans and the Barack Obamas and the professional rioters – you are free to express your opinions, but I’m also 100% free to express mine. I’ll never stop.
You’re welcome.
