Oldest nurse in the United States celebrated her 90th birthday last week, and is still working!

If she’s not the epitome of a Smart Girl, we don’t know what is!

Florence “SeeSee” Rigney graduated from nursing school in 1946. She’s an operating room nurse at Tacoma General in Tacoma, WA and has served faithfully as a nurse for almost 70 years. Though she no longer assists patients in the operating room, SeeSee still works two days a week, helping set up equipment and supplies. She’s never gone off duty except for a short 5 month break when she turned 67 — supposedly to retire! Last week, she celebrated her 90th birthday and was honored by the Governor, and by her co-workers, who clearly adore her.

Is she not the cutest thing? She had a dream, accomplished that dream, and has spent a lifetime living it. What an amazing woman!
