Carly Fiorina playing smart, launches #domaingate, purchases some domains you won’t believe
The 2016 campaign for President is just now getting started, but don’t think for a second that the Republican woman in the race doesn’t know a thing or two about campaigning. Carly Fiorina was widely criticized almost immediately after announcing her bid for the White House when it was discovered that her campaign failed to purchase the domain CarlyFiorina.org, which had been purchased by a democrat activist and launched as an anti-Carly site.
According to Alex Boyer at Breitbart News, the Fiorina campaign responded in an epic way, launching what they’re calling #domaingate. During an appearance Wednesday night on “Late Night With Seth Meyers,” Meyers asked Fiorina about the domain issue, and she responded by asking him if he had any idea who owns SethMeyers.org. She answered her own question with…”I do. I just bought it in the green room!” Sunday morning, she tweeted, thanking Chuck Todd for an interview she’d just done for Meet the Press, and suggested he check this link:
Thanks, @chucktodd, for having me on @meetthepress this morning. Btw, check out ChuckTodd.org. #domaingate

Funny thing is, not one of the reporters mocking Fiorina bothered to check the domain of…say…her female opponent in the 2016 run for President. HillaryClinton.net redirects to CarlyForPresident.com and while the Fiorina campaign told MSNBC they did not purchase the domain, Carly did have this to say:
“Many reporters were nearly giddy about what I’ve affectionately labeled #domaingate when it came to Republicans, but none had bothered to check hillaryclinton.net or hillaryforpresident.com. I’m now looking forward to all the stories similarly labeling this a major gaffe by the Clinton campaign,” Fiorina spokeswoman Sarah Isgur Flores said in an email.
Just when I was already getting tired of this very early start to the 2016 election cycle, Fiorina pulls this and gives me hope that this thing might be fun after all!
